Comment: Here Cornelius makes the student aware of her vibrato and how being aware of what you do makes it possible to conceptually repeat it.

Quote: The student need only concentrate on the pitch, intensity, and vowel patterns suggested by the teacher and respond freely without regard for aesthetic goals. Quality, expressed in terms of "my quality," "forwardness," "point," "ping," "nasal resonance," or any other exotic concept that inhibits progress, must be ruthlessly discarded from the preconception. ...Many changes can be brought about in the technique by following this procedure. Of especial interest is the fact that these changes, while anticipated by the teacher, should be a totally new experience for the student. Thus, new physical adjustments and new sounds never before conceptualized, falling as they now should within the experience of the student, can, as such, be evaluated and embraced as an exciting new conceptual adventure.
