Comment: Establishing the chest voice on the bottom, then establishing more head voice in the middle, the result being freer high notes.

Quote: In principle, a "mixed" registration is in place when within a given pitch range the ratio of tension shared between the cricothyroids and the arytenoid muscular complex is inequitable. ... Most vocal faults can be directly attributable to a "mixed" registration, whose cure is solely dependent upon two processes; one which separates (isolates) and another which combines the two register mechanisms, so that the ratio of tension distributed between them can be made more equitable.
